Blissey V / Miltank 卡组正在崛起！

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Are you ready to read about one of the most successful Pokemon TCG decks in our Lost Origin standard format? Well, your boy Zach Lesage has your back! 布利西五世 (Chilling Reign) isn’t a new deck from Lost Origin, as a matter of fact, it was featured in the finalist deck at Milwaukee Regionals in 六月 2022, but here we are again. As the metagame has formed around a handful of powerful decks, like Kyurem VMAX (Lost Origin), Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR (Astral Radiance), and Comfey (Lost Origin) based Pokemon TCG decks, this deck has popped up in the form of an answer. When you pair 布利西五世 with Cape of Toughness (Darkness Ablaze), you get a Basic Pokemon with 300 HP that can scale its damage output easily. Pair that further with Cheren’s Care (Brilliant Stars) and Hyper Potion (Champions Path) for easy healing and a tanky deck. For everything else, 牛奶罐 (Astral Radiance) is the hopeful glue to keep this deck together. Are they an Arceus VSTAR (Brilliant Stars) deck that doesn’t have an answer? Miracle Body for the win! The same goes with Kyurem VMAX / Palkia VSTAR and any other deck that just doesn’t have an answer. Avery (Chilling Reign) offers similar protection against Palkia VSTAR decks by lowering their Bench size and damage output. Path to the Peak (Chilling Reign) can also stop some decks dead in their tracks, like Mew VMAX (Fusion Strike), and if it works, it works. This deck is relatively budget conscious, and it is incredibly powerful in our current Lost Origin metagame. This deck should be relatively simple to play, so if you are new to PTCGO or a beginner in Pokemon - this is a great deck to start off with. You want to use 光芒四射的甲贺忍蛙 (Astral Radiance), Quick Ball (Sword and Shield), and Professor’s Research (Sword and Shield) to discard your Energy to eventually retrieve back with Blissey V’s Blissful Blast attack. Once you get a sizable amount of Energy attached to Blissey V, you often have to decide if you can take another attack or if you’ll have to heal with Hyper Potion or Team Yell Towel (Shining Fates) - that is gonna depend on a lot of factors. Be sure to count your Energy, apply all additional damage modifiers, like +20 from Powerful Colorless Energy (Darkness Ablaze), and see if you need more Energy or not to attack. It is one thing to heal, but you don’t want to reduce your damage to a point where you get Knocked Out the next turn anyways after missing a Knock Out yourself. That’s the Blissey V part, but Miltank is just as important. I don’t wanna say just use Miltank against Pokemon V, but that is really where it shines. If you know the counts of your opponent’s deck, you can often checkmate them out of the game if they don’t have an answer (or many answers) to Miltank. If they do have answers, I recommend using Boss’s Orders (Rebel Clash) with Blissey V to take those out before going forward with Miltank. There isn’t really much else to manage beyond your various Supporters and Energy count, which makes this deck relatively easy to play for most! Let’s check out the list.

While nothing overly special, this is the current best list for Blissey going around. My The Shuffle Squad teammate, Calvin Connor, has piloted this list to quite a few online events and has an astronomical win rate with it. It's easy to play, effective in the metagame, and can run into multiple auto-win situations per event. Like, I can’t count how many times this deck runs into an Arceus VSTAR / Hisuian Goodra VSTAR (Lost Origin) deck, and they have 0 outs except draw passing to deck you out. Considering they have to set up an attacking Goodra VSTAR to reduce Miltank’s Rout attack, they will be forced to use more cards than you to eventually lose. Yeah, they can play Marnie (Sword and Shield) every 15-25 turns, but they can legit only draw passes. It gets even worse for Kyurem VMAX decks that are forced to attack with 光芒四射的甲贺忍蛙 or Oranguru (Sword and Shield) - we take those. If you wanna stumble into some pretty easy-going matchups, this deck can definitely take you there, but it isn’t always sunshine for this deck. This deck can fold to a single Eiscue (Evolving Skies) and has virtually no chance against Regis attacking with a Regirock (Astral Radiance). That being said, this is one of the best decks in the Pokemon TCG Standard format so let’s look at the list:
