Whenever we get a new format, there are two ways to really stand up against the competition - you either play new Pokemon online decks or TCG decks that have been around for a while that have seen success. We all know Giratina VSTAR (Lost Origin) will be good, but most early takes are likely to suffer from non-optimized lists. On the other hand, we already know what 99% of an 起源形态帕路奇亚 VSTAR (Astral Radiance) list looks like, so we can substitute a few cards whenever a new set comes out. The goal of this article is to take decks that were previously successful and throw on a fresh layer of paint - add something shiny and new! 喵喵VMAX (Fusion Strike) has been a tier-one deck for about a year straight, and you might be wondering, why hasn’t this deck been countered into the ground already? Well, it has, but Mew seems to always find a new answer. Over the past few months, it has been pretty noticeable that Mew struggles against single Prize Card Pokemon, like 雷吉奇卡斯 (Astral Radiance) and Radiant Charizard (Pokemon GO), but that has all changed with the release of Lost Origin… We now have Lost City (Lost Origin). Lost City allows you to KO pesky Pokemon that you don’t wanna see again, yeah, Drapion V (Lost Origin) comes to mind, and your deck is essentially the same as usual. You still use Genesect V (Fusion Strike) to draw a bunch of cards, Mew VMAX can copy any Fusion Strike attack you have in play, and you can viciously OHKO most Pokemon with Power Tablet (Fusion Strike). With Mew having access to a better single Prize Card matchup (and a way to banish threats in general), it is quickly becoming the go-to for most players. Let’s look at my list:

Ever since Palkia VSTAR was released, it has been tearing up events. The goal of this deck is to use Drizzile (Sword and Shield) and Inteleon (Sword and Shield) to search for powerful Trainer cards to help stabilize Palkia as an attacker. The Pokemon online deck is centred around using Star Portal at the right time to take an aggressive KO, powering up Radiant Greninja (Astral Radiance) to snipe two Pokemon, or even attacking with Inteleon against single Prize Card matchups. All of the above strategies are the same as always, but how does this deck function in the Lost Origin format, and what does it gain? Mainly Thorton (Lost Origin), one of the most unique cards from Lost Origin. You can now start Sobble (Chilling Reign), attach a Water Energy, search for some more Sobble, and then Thorton into an Origin Forme Palkia V (Astral Radiance) to Evolve into Palkia VSTAR immediately after. It opens the deck to new possibilities, and this list just takes one! I might want to explore Empoleon V (Battle Styles) to stop the many Comfey (Lost Origin) decks from working or maybe even a Crobat V (Darkness Ablaze) since Thorton can change it out of harm's way. Here is my list.

雷吉奇卡斯 has had an interesting position in the metagame ever since it was released in Astral Radiance, and that is largely due to it being an inconsistent deck. It has a lot of moving pieces, but when it works, it works! The goal of this deck is to get each of the Regi’s (6 total) in play, use Regigigas’s Ability, and start accelerating any Energy from your Discard Pile. Use the right type of Regi against most Pokemon TCG decks, and you likely have a strong advantage in the matchup. While the inconsistencies can be overlooked by a solid matchup spread, this deck also had a few poor matchups lurking in the metagame too, namely Duraludon VMAX (Evolving Skies) and Flying Pikachu VMAX (Celebrations). All of that has changed because this deck can play Yveltal (Shining Fates) which can OHKO any Pokemon. The 5 Energy Attack Cost might look a little rough, but you can accelerate Energy to a Regi, play Thorton, and transform into a Yveltal. Now you just need to attach an Energy (or have planned this a turn in advance) to make the magic happen. With Yveltal seemingly swinging some matchups back into your favour, Regigigas is back as a real threat in the metagame again!

Such an awesome adventure this article has been! We’ve discovered why these decks are still seeing success right now, I shared my updated lists, the strategy, and how some of the more strategic cards in the deck play out. All of these Pokemon online decks are great choices in our current metagame, but only time will tell.
