Mew 重返巅峰！

I have been having a bunch of fun with our new format, and I have a hidden gem of a deck to share with you today - 喵喵VMAX! 喵喵VMAX has been around since Fusion Strike and most recently getting printed as a ready-to-play League Battle Deck, but it has gained a notable tech in Silver Tempest. That card is Forest Seal Stone (Silver Tempest), and it packs a punch! It allows you to search your deck for any single card you want and gives this deck an opportunity to use a VSTAR Power. While it might still be bugged on PTCGO, you CAN use Star Alchemy under Path to the Peak (Chilling Reign) to search for an out to Path to the Peak. Yeah, you can literally use that Ability since Forest Seal Stone isn’t a “Pokemon”, and grab a Lost City (Lost Origin) to start using your Abilities again. Beyond being able to wiggle out of Path to the Peak, you can use it to search for the missing card necessary to pull off a huge turn-one combo with Meloetta (Fusion Strike). Do you need the Fusion Strike Energy, Elesa’s Sparkle, or something else? Use your Forest Seal Stone to get that missing card! Even though Lugia VSTAR (Silver Tempest) is being hyped up, Mew VMAX has found itself back in the driver's seat of the metagame - it is honestly fantastic! In this article, I will explain the main strategy of Mew VMAX, share my decklist, and other important information. The goal of a 喵喵VMAX deck is to attack aggressively and draw a lot of cards in the process! Mew VMAX can copy any of the attacks of your Fusion Strike Pokemon in play, and that mainly means using Techno Blast and Melodious Echo to do a lot of damage. If you need to increase that damage you can use Power Tablet (Fusion Strike) and/or Choice Belt (Brilliant Stars) to pump it up for some OHKO action. How are we getting those powerful cards? 盖诺赛克特 V, of course! We want to drop down as many Fusion Strike Pokemon as possible to draw plenty of cards each turn from the Fusion Strike System. Our ideal board in most games is going to be 2 Mew VMAX, 3 Genesect V, and a Meloetta to give us a great combination of attacking and draw power. I find myself using Meloetta to OHKO Pokemon V or trying to lower the amount of Prize Cards I’m exchanging against an opposing single Prize Card deck. Notably you should use Cyllene (Astral Radiance) if you need to get back any Energy, Mew VMAX, or damage modifiers to jump back into a game! This deck might look easy to play, but the true power is going to be in sequencing your cards correctly to maximize Fusion Strike System draws while holding on to valuable resources.

Here is the 喵喵VMAX that I have been testing in preparation for the 2022 Latin America International Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There isn’t anything overly special about this list, but it is a very pure Mew VMAX list. I cut most tech cards for extra consistency and added a Pumpkaboo (Evolving Skies) to take care of Path to the Peak with either a Quick Ball (Sword and Shield) or an Ultra Ball (Brilliant Stars). Attach, attack, Boss’s Orders, and repeat! Here is my list:

That’s what we have going on for today and I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a bit more about 喵喵VMAX. This Fusion Strike Energy variant is likely better than the usually-more-popular Double Turbo Energy variant because Forest Seal Stone allows for a more aggressive start. As long as we aren’t playing against a Path to the Peak deck, we can use Star Alchemy to grab any one card we want. If we are facing a Path to the Peak deck, we can use Star Alchemy to grab an out. It doesn’t sound like much, but this is exactly what Mew VMAX needed to jump back into the metagame in full force. It is also the reason why I have added a copy of Drapion V (Lost Origin) into this deck to handle the mirror match - I fully expect Mew VMAX to be one of the most played Pokemon online decks in the format! As I continue to explore our new Standard format, I’ll share the lists that have been performing the best for me in my testing! I get to fully experience this format as I’m travelling to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the 2022 Latin America International Championships, which is the first Silver Tempest legal format.
